Tray empty
From the archive: the Mahjong puzzle for October 15, 2026. Play it free online, no sign-up needed.
A new board every day. Match tiles in pairs and clear them all.
Tap a tile to send it to the tray. Two matching tiles disappear right away.
A tile needs a free left or right side.
A tile is free only when nothing is on top of it. Take the one on top first.
When the tray holds 4 different tiles, you can't pick up any more. Undo a move or start over.
“Hint” shows a pair, “Undo” takes back a move and “Reset” starts over. Use them as much as you like. Press and hold a tile to peek underneath.
Every board can be solved without hints, but the order of moves matters. There’s no time limit and no penalty.
Sometimes you need to set aside a tile without its pair to open the way to more matches. Leave it in the tray, make other moves, and only then pick up its pair. Plan ahead so you keep a free slot.
Press and hold a tile to lift it, then drag it aside to see what it covers. When you let go, it returns to its spot. Peeking never makes a move, so you can look under any tile, even a blocked one.
Two buttons help during the game. “Hint” highlights a pair you can match right now, but it doesn't make the move for you. “Undo” takes back the last move along with the changes in the tray, even after all four slots are full. You can use it only when the tray holds at least one tile.
Both are free and unlimited. There are no penalties or costs; how often you use them only goes into the game stats and doesn't lower your result.
The “Reset” button restores the starting layout of the same board and begins a new attempt. Your total moves, hints and undos stay recorded.
One tap is all it takes: the tile flies to the first free slot in the tray. Dragging is only for peeking under tiles. Shadows and edges show the order of the layers. On a bigger board you can scroll the inner area while the tray and buttons stay on screen.
Tab moves between available tiles, and Enter or Space sends a tile to the tray. Every accepted move, hint and undo is saved, even when you play without logging in. Creating an account keeps that progress. An existing account has its own saved game, and earlier anonymous progress isn't carried over when you log in.
